How to set up and airfield with runways & airdrome points (CTRL-B trick) - Flug - 07-21-2021

Here is a tricky one: How to set up an airfield in FMB, with proper runways & airdrome points (which tell the aircraft where to spawn in).

This ATAG thread has an illustrated step-by-step.

The main trick is, airdrome points come in pairs.  The aircraft spawns on top of one point and is aimed in the direction of the other point.

When the airport is created in FMB, it already has the "root" point of the airdrome points, point zero.

So next ctrl-click two more points to make points 0 -  1 - 2.  So in that case, the airplane will spawn in on point 2 and be aimed in the direction of point 1.

To make another spawn point, click on point 0 again to highlight it.  Then put your mouse where you want the next point and CONTROL-B. This will create point #3.  Then ctrl-click again to create point #4.

Continue like this: Click point 0, CONTROL B to create a new branch point, then ctrl-click to create the end point.

There is undoubtedly a place in the documentation where it says "click point 0 then control-b to create a new branch" but it is very hard to find . . .
