After Action Report:
Took off 1446 with Captain Jay Ray and Captain Jack Sparrow flew to Manston. Patrolled south to Hell's Corner encountered 7 stukas at 7k with 3 109s above called attack on stukas, with captain Ray while Sparrow covered from above. Hit one Stuka and had to dive out of fight as all 3 109 had attacked me. Sparrow and that damn compass of his sightseeing as usual arrghh. Returned to Ramsgate to re-plane.Joined by Captain Ray.
1539 too off Ramsgate in spitfire flew toward Dover encountered 110 attacked suffered damage again but 110 was damaged and smoking with subsequent attacks by Ray and Sparrow and now joined by Captain Duke. Re-planed again took off 1544 headed to Littlestone encountered stukas and 109s again, shot down 1 stuka became separated from Captain Duke. Captain Sparrow was out of fuel and ammo and subsequently headed to Manston to land. Encountered single 109 after hearing cries of anguish for captain Davidson and Captain Hogg from Green flight turned north to help. Became separated from Captain Ray near Folkstone harbor, though we were still in radio contact. Became engaged with a 109 at higher altitude near where help calls originated. Captain Ray became engaged with 3 109s near the same area at a lower altitude.
As the high 109 descended he curved in toward Captain Ray but had to much energy to line up a shot and sped away long the coast line with me in trail but not diving. Once the 109 realized I was not going to continue down he pulled up hard to regain the advantage and engaged in a series of aerobatic maneuvers to cause me to over shoot and this resulted in me losing my tactical advantage and becoming, through my carelessness, in a flat spin. Through sheer luck the 109 had not the energy left to continue to press his attack and had to dive to regain speed and control himself. Once both planes recovered we again became involved in a rolling scissors and the again in a Cuban 8 this time when he came out of the 8 I was waiting on him and shot him down. Not going to fool me twice, Mr. Jagger! Captain Ray arrived as the defeated 109 hit the water and we headed off to find the g50 to the east northeast. We found him at 4k and we dove on him from out of the sun at 8k. Using loose deuce tactics to boom and zoom, we after repeated trials, managed to destroy this acrobatic but under-powered aircraft. Returned to Lymne at 1655
