Complications:
- enemy activity over the Wilmington airfield caused significant delays in mission execution. Good communication between Bomber lead and fighter lead on the TS command channel likely prevented bomber losses.
- Bomber lead was informed after bombs away that enemy 110's were in the area and were covering the prime egress area. Bomber lead released the bombers and dropped altitude for a safe egress back to Wilmington.
