Mission Server

#1
Good morning!
I used to spend some of my time flying in MISSION SERVER. But now it became a "rare bird".  I mean that it is very difficult to find it in the plyable games list and most of all, when it is available the version does not matches with the BLITZ version I have on board.
My version, automatically updated by Steam is 4.57.3, while Mission Server version ,as appears written in red on the first line of the Server datails, is 4.56=4.57.  Is this version uncompatable with mine?
Any advice is welcome. Thanks

The Mission server is hosted by a TWC member - seperate from the Campaign Server.  The Owner is away from the Mission Server machine at the moment, therefore - it hasn't been updated to the current version.  The expected timeframe for the update is currently unknown.

The red text shown ingame explains the Mission Server is 4.56 and the current version of the game is 4.57, which isn't compatible.  This is not something you can change at your end.

As you can imagine, sometimes there are more pressing private events occuring in life which push other things lower in a persons priorities.  This is one such event.  The only advice I can offer is to check on the server once a week, to see if it has been updated.

The Campaign Server is upto date, we hope you can enjoy it until the Mission Server is updated.

Up until a couple of days ago, I was in the fourth spot on the stats page of the Mission Server. Then 2 days ago the top two pilots were removed from their positions and I was moved up to the second spot. Today I'm a Tyro with no score at the bottom of the board.

The thing of it is, no one has been able to fly this server since the 4.57 update, so how can this be.

Just a guess,
but it is my understanding that anyone who has not updated
& has the matching 4.56 files can still fly the old mission server.

Actually, it is a good idea before updating to copy your old CLOD file & rename it
so you always have an old copy to fall back on when things go kablooie...

I get that might be why the top 2 pilots may have lost their spots, but I don't have an option about updating. Whenever I start my game the fist thing that happens, if there are any updates, they are automatically downloaded and installed. That being said, I have not been able the join the Mission Server since the update. Up until the time mentioned in my previous post, I was holding spot 4, and then spot 2 after the top 2 pilots disappeared. I can't remember exactly, but I had 20+ kills (a combination of air and ground strikes). Then as mentioned above, without me doing anything, I essentially "was killed off - career ended," and now have the rank of Tyro with no kills to my credit. Now today, when I check the Dead Pilots List for the Mission Server, I'm no longer listed there at all.

I can almost here the theme song from the Twilight Zone ... ♫Do-De-Duh♫ "It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone." ♫Bud-Da-Da-Duh♫

Fatal has updated the Mission Server now.  It is now current at v4.57.

As for the pilot stats, not sure on that.  I have no idea how/why that has occured.

The Mission Server Stats currently lists your old name and current name alive as Tyro.  On the deaths - neither are listed.  Please monitor this, and report back if it goes wonky again.

The only thing I can think of, is the Stats were reset at some point.

Mack. I remember that stats were reset automaticaly after 45 days (or was it 30) of a pilot inactivity on the Mission server. Unfortunately, I think that's what happened after the update.

I can understand the philosophy behind the stats being reset if a pilot has been inactive for 30 or 45 days, but since the server was inactive because of the version conflict, wouldn't the reset have applied to all pilots listed. And if this is true, why are some of the pilots listed on the Dead Pilots list dated back to 2017.

In the end it doesn't really matter, the server has been updated and I can start accumulating again. I only pointed it out because it seemed rather strange.
