Hi all,

Are any of you clever sods out there working on virtual cockpits for the new planes - Kittyhawk, Tomahawk etc??

I have got so used to using it that trying to keep eyes on the actual dash instruments is a problem  - I will get used to it!

Any help appreciated.

    Oh man, guess it depends how far back you wanna go. Red Baron, Some really bad F-16 game for like windows 96, War thunder, Aces high, IL-1946, Elite      Dangerous, and now IL-2 Great Battles

      I honestly don't care. I've been flying mostly german planes since my RL friends that play do that. I am much more interested in online play than they are, thus the search for a squadron to fly with. I would fly transports if it meant the team won. I'm all about being part of a team.

      I'm an environmental scientist by trade, trying to switch to become a web developer. I make my own beer and mead, am building a canoe in my basement, pretty hands on. I like building stuff. Also big nerd, D&D player, fantasy stuff (though not so much anymore).

      I saw you guys respond to another thread on a post and checked out the site. Everything I read seemed to align pretty well with what I was interested in.

So I'm old enough that I don't want to waste my time or yours. The recruitment thread and video seemed well aligned with what I'm looking for, but let me spell out where I am at with the game and life and you guys can decide if I would be a good fit. I've got a wife, a dog, and hopefully soon 2 homes to take care of. I don't always have time to get online but when I do I try to make it count. My role doesn't matter to me. Bomber, fighter, mechanic. I could care less so long as it is moving the team forward. I'm not the best pilot, I do my best to learn. I'm looking to join an online squadron that I can grow with and honestly, just give a damn about. Rather than playing with a bunch of guys that take it too seriously, or sometimes not seriously enough. I do play on VR, so my spotting is often shit. But I love this game so hopefully I can make up for it with enthusiasm.

Hello all. F-ing New Guy here..... Hoping for some help - The Esc button is not getting me from the cockpit to the main menu (first time this is happening for me). I've looked for controls I may have mapped to the Esc button but cannot find a conflict. I've also searched this and many CLoD forums for answers and have attempted some fixes, such as changing Launcher compatibility properties with no joy. If you can point me in the right direction, I would be very appreciative. Thanks, Potts.

Edit: I'm also not seeing any info windows appear on my windscreen where I had them pretty decked out. Thanks!

Greetings and salutations TWC. I've been grounded for quite a while but I have a fresh W10 Pro install, and a copy of Tobruk waiting. I look forward to winging with you chaps. S!

Tried to reply to a thread and forum wouldn't let me sign in within thread. Signed in outside of thread successfully but wasn't recognized as signed in within thread. Kept telling me I had the wrong authorization.

After I posted this things went back to normal. I'm guessing posting this forced something to behave properly.

It is my extreme displeasure to announce to everyone that I am a guilty man.

On or about Sunday morning, July 26, 2020, I mistook a Beaufighter flown by the esteemed pilot BlacKnight, for a hostile 110.  We were engaged with three of them, low over the water at St. Mary's Bay off of Littlestone.  The 110s were surely no match for BlacKnight's crack aim.  But with a single swift snapshot I disabled BlacKnight's left engine.  Too low to make it home, BlacKnight and his Beau sank into the water with dreadful finality.  In that shameful split second I lost us the fight, cost the allied forces an expensive machine, and cost BlacKnight his life.

My shame shall never fade.  People say to me in an effort to console that we all do it, that these things happen in battle.  Any consolation is short lived and undeserved.  People may jokingly mock me, rightfully so, but the laughs are forced and tinged with spite.  For I am a guilty man and forever hang my head.
